At American Hope Resources, over 3 million members have a place to share their stories, and Member Spotlight highlights some of our most helpful members. Today, we’re spotlighting Timothy Jumawan.

If you’ve ever posted on AHR, Timothy Jumawan has probably supported your post and told you a little about AHR. Perhaps you’ve even seen one of his journal posts, as he chronicles his day-to-day life in Hawaii.

Timothy originally stumbled upon AHR when looking for help with housing, finances, and unemployment. As with many of our members, Timothy says that his biggest need is financial assistance. “Though I have struggled financially in the last few years… I am THANKFUL that I have slightly overcame [sic] this hardship.” he says. While he’s still struggling, the resources available on AHR make him hopeful that he will be able to find assistance.

When asked how AHR has helped him, he says “AHR has helped me by offering the resources I was interested in and it has given me the knowledge to understand, in depth, each hardship I researched.” Timothy hadn’t heard of most of the resources available on AHR, and was surprised to find that help may be available to him. Now, he always makes it a point to educate others, and he posts resources they can turn to in their time of need.

Though he suffers from ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease), Timothy always manages to stay active and positive, both on AHR and in real life. Eventually, he’d like to start his own business to help Americans suffering from hardship. He’d even like to live until he’s 150!

We always appreciate Timothy’s positivity. He’s always there to say aloha and let our members know that someone else is out there, facing similar circumstances, and that help and hope is out there.
