Denver, Colorado has introduced a new program called Denver Day Works that will offer the homeless day shifts with pay starting at $12.59. This program will offer jobs for a full year, November 2016 to October 2017, and include jobs such as planting trees or plowing snow. Laborers without identification may also participate by making special arrangements.

The program hopes to get at least 300 participants. They hope to connect 49 of the participants with full time jobs and 150 with work experience. The program also wants to keep 70 or more for for work at city or contract sites. The goal of Denver’s Denver Day Works program is to help the homeless population raise themselves from poverty.
