Cold weather is a welcome change from the blazing hot days of summer. However, you need to be prepared when the cold front hits so you’re not shivering day in and day out. Here are some ways you can get free or low cost winter clothes to keep warm through the season.

Charities
If you’re financially strapped with no wiggle room, there’s a way for you to get winter clothes for yourself and your children for free. Various charities offer up clothing to those who need it, such as Charitable Union and One Warm Coat. With these, you’ll get a warm set of clothes at no cost to you.

Goodwill
This is a classic choice for those who are in financial hardship, or even just want a good deal on clothing. Goodwill is sure to have affordable winter clothing for you to browse. Since people donate clothes they no longer need, you might even find some recognizable brands for incredibly low prices.

Discount Retailers
Discount retailers, such as Target and Walmart, pride themselves in their store brands. These are essentially duplicates of famous name brands for much lower prices. The quality of their clothing is almost identical to, and sometimes even better than, the original name brands’. Surely, you may not even be able to catch the difference!

Shop Online
Online retailers, such as Amazon, are often able to offer up items at much lower rates than department stores. Try browsing online, and you’ll find a wide variety of different designs and styles, in every shape and size, to fit your winter needs. Worried about the sizing? Most retailers offer free returns if the item doesn’t fit right or isn’t what you expected.

Garage Sales
Try searching around your city for garage sales to find great deals on winter clothes! You might be able to find the cheapest prices this way, since there’s no retailer involved. People are always ready to unload clothes that don’t fit or don’t suit them anymore, so these shouldn’t be too hard to find.

If you try some of these locations, you’ll be more than prepared for the winter season. Not only this, but you won’t need to shop around next season if you plan accordingly. Now, you can conquer the cold with no fear!
