When you’re unemployed or not bringing much money in, buying a car can seem impossible. The cost of not only the car, but registration and insurance may deter you. These four programs may be able to help.

Ways to Work

This program provides auto loans to low income and credit-challenged families so that they have a steady way to get to work. There are offices in 22 states.

Working Cars for Working Families

Working cars for working families is a network of organizations committed to helping low income families and individuals buy a car. Their website has a searchable database to help you find a program in your area.

OnlineCarDonation.org

Online Car Donations provides gifted cars to people in multiple situations. As an added bonus, their application is super quick and easy.

Free Charity Cars

This website allows you to post your situation and get votes. If you get enough votes, you are put on the list to receive a donated car.  

Lots of organizations recognize that having a car can help people get and keep jobs. They also realize that those with disabilities need a car to get to and from their appointments. These organizations strive to get cars to those who really need them. If you are having a hard time getting a car, don’t hesitate to use these resources.
